Expo 2015 is coming! And it’s all about food!

The next World Fair will be held in Milan, Italy, from May 1 to October 31 of this year. Luckily for us and all you food lovers out there, the theme for this fair is food! The motto is “Nutrire il Pianeta, Energia per la Vita”, which means “Feeding the planet, energy for life”.

The exhibition area will be absolutely huge and will include a pavilion called “Future Food District“, which we can’t wait to check out, a biodiversity park and an exhibition on the history of food, “Arts & Foods. Rituals since 1851“.

There are ticket reductions for students, over-65s, families and Italian nationals living abroad. Click on the tweet above for more information.

The Expo is on for six months and you might need that long, because there is plenty to visit…out attention was particularly piqued when we read about the Cocoa and Chocolate Cluster, which will have a jungle and be all about cocoa growth and chocolate! And if you start getting a little tired, just head to the Coffee Cluster for an espresso.

The UK will have a pavilion which will “be inspired by the role of the bee in the global ecosystem and offering visitors a unique experiential journey” (source). We’re not sure what that entails exactly, but we love bees, so we’re game!

Milan is only a short flight away (1h40m) and served by several airlines, including Easyjet, Ryanair, BA and Alitalia. the Expo tickets are very reasonable, for such a huge event. The Expo opens on May 1 so, in the meantime, stay up to date by following the Expo on Twitter, InstagramFacebook, or checking out their Social Media Hub.
